Yearning for the open sky

Seagulls in the winter sun
It seems we have to come to a new situation with our own self whole
When we find our own strength and grow into the place we have reached
Then we are not seeking to replace something missing
we are looking to share that which is there
to bring strength to strength
and vulnerabilities understood.

The beach
You are meant to be happy, and, I am meant to be happy
You are meant to fly. I am meant to glide.
God’s blessings rain down upon us like waves upon the shore
The world turns. The waves crash.
The tides rise. The tides recede.
Tunnels blocked by tides reveal passage to a place to heal
Revealing God’s love in our lives
Showing pools of mystery and secrets to explore.
Rocks turn to grains of sand spread upon the shore.
Protected hearts held close by fear
Reveal their tenderness because God’s love washes away.
God’s love arrives unrecognized like just another wave.
Yet each wave scours a little more of the tarnish from the heart.

Yearning for the open sky two hearts explore the shore
Though enshrouded by the fog, two hearts conspire
To ask questions and begin to push the fog aside
The fog rises from the ocean to obscure what waits within
The light of life and breeze of love come forth when sunshine wins
The force of nature and warmth from God bring hope to light again.

In chilly air birds glide along the shore of revelation
That foggy days and long beach walks
Bring us on our way
To find the space where hearts entwine and waves crash day by day.
God lifts the fog and turns the world to another day
