  • The heart of Pluto

    The heart of Pluto
Rests in the cold deep space
Once thought glowing and orange and red
Now seen in brown and sienna
Heart exposed for all to see

  • Joy of life

    Houshold items everyone should have
    Joy of life
    To live the strife
    Of loving every day

Love gave me a great gift
    Sun flare on dappled face
    Reflection of the opal
    In the late day sun
    A chance to become someone
    better than
    I ever would have been

    Joy of life
    To live the strife
    Of loving every day

    Love expands my heart
    To capacity serene
    Then joy and sorrow explore
    the space created therein

    Joy of life
    To live the strife
    Of loving every day

  • a thin veil

Grovers Hot Springs - Summer Solstice Hike to the waterfall

    Great joy
    And great sadness
    Are divided
    By just a thin veil.

The soft smooth synthesis of joy
Belies the thoughts that lie within
    Gentle trepidation and real love
    Haunt the lovers who begin
    To set aside the veil
Their lives and souls to win

    The sadness of the lost
    And sometimes for the found
Reveals the fears from gathered years
    Trodding some old ground
    Remove the barrier
So we no longer tarry here

    Know loves ways
    In all the days
    Great joy or sadness joined
    Wrapped in a thin veil.
    That will not fail
    To protect them
    All their days

  • Miranda

“A comma is a cute pause in a sentence.”

    071115 Miranda (11)

    Dappled sunlight
    On a dappled banana slug
    Cue butterfly
    Cue hawk
    Queue of memories
    Trees and gems
    Joy and melancholy
    Water cascading through the fountain
While succulents nearby collected the mist
    And prayed for rain
Little prayers yet to be answered
Joy of companionship under a may be maple tree
Certainly an ancient oak bodes well for the journey of the hawk
After dappled sunlight yields to clear blue sky.

    Needs unfulfilled
    Yet then met
    In the night
    <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> 07/11/15

    Sitting outside
    Motorcycles fly by
Watching crows return from the sky
Banana slugs and other bugs glide a particular way
    Crows gone now gliding
    Dog’s bark receding
    Motorcycles return
And the rabbit comes out of the wall
And they do the mosquito dance

    071115 Miranda trip (35)

Wrapping it up there’s no doubt
    The hawk went south
    Circled back and circled twice
    Amongst the Redwood trees
Then circle round to north instead
    Everything circles back around here
    Flowing round
    The expansive needles
    Close to the ground
    Waved like a circling breeze

  • Love winds among

    080115 Bodega trip-273

Good night. To dream. Of you.

    Love is a choice
    Until it is inevitable
It opens the passageways of the heart

    Holding out their hearts
    Lovers offer some safe remittances
Then from the shadows, or out of joy,
    The embrace becomes complete

    Love winds among
    The flowers of our dreams
It brings the feelings like fragrances
    That linger on our lives

Touched by the fulfillment of dreams
    Prayers bring forth blessings
Of pathways waiting to be explored
The lilt of love wafts o’er their hearts
    Now bound by choices blessed.

  • Along the way

    072715 Bayer Farms / NBOP

    Life and death
    Death and life
We need not rise above the strife
Just live each day with this in mind
Along the way some peace to find

  • Love and all that

    IMG_0872

Clouds over snow sun shining on mountains
    Driving along the eastern sierra
    Rocks strewn in beauty
    Hearts feeling hearts
    joining hearts
    overwhelmed by history and present
    A gift to each other
    this glorious day

    Hearts joined
in the emotion of mountains and vistas
    Light over all
    this glorious day
    Gently gazing in eyes
    as souls strived to joining
    imperfect sense
    of this glorious day

    Morning coffee from the Titanic
    New music Old friends
    Old music and new friends
    Relatives of old friends
New ways of seeing things already known
    Love and all that

    New smiles Old styles
Doing things the same old way
Smiling and laughing at the whole new day
    Finding people you already know
Knowing you’ll find people out of the blue
    Love and all that

    Pink roses Bright eyes
    Bright eyes happily looking
Pink roses framing a view of beauty
New friends becoming old friends some time to be
    A vision of the present
    Blessed vision of the future
    Love and all that

  • Charity that is not charity – ode to health care

Charity is giving. Charity is good.
Charity is corrupt if it serves the self interest of the giver above the interests of the people it is alleged to help.
Charity in the land of health care is a car wash to buy a kidney.
Charity in health care is a golf tournament to buy off the golfers’ perceptions.
Charity in health care is nonprofit insurance companies who own for profit hospitals.
Charity care of seven billion dollars in care advertised on public radio is seven billion dollars of overpriced full charge care that would be billed at a fraction of that except to write off on taxes.
    Faith hope and charity
Charity that is not charity is hypocrisy and corruption

  • Waiting for an angel

    Tree with an angel-10

Sitting. Waiting for an angel to walk in.
Anticipating a spirit to encounter in a coffee shop.
Holding out hope by investing in waiting.
Taking the time to linger while others rush past, ambling too fast.
Waiting for an angel sent to rest among us.
Has the force of spirit been delayed at a stoplight?
Are the winds pushing on the clouds to obscure the path?
Has the setting sun darkened the spirit’s way?
How will the angel, the messenger, be recognized?
Is there an angel on the sidewalk outside who stopped to tie his shoe?
    I thought angels wore sandals.
    Sitting, waiting for an angel.
Wondering if I leave will he enter?
    And I won’t be waiting.
    What then?
