Letters of the Scattered Brotherhood

Letters of the Scattered Brotherhood was a book I found while I was looking for something else. It took me six (6) years to read ā€œLettersā€ the first time. I was convinced that some deep answers lay in the pages. It did hold some revelations which emerged gradually.

Since Iā€™m reading it this time with notebook nearby I will try to pass along some of the shiny jewels.

At our full stature
We show the joyful spirit
Of a tender God.

Open to the Lord
Today action through waiting
Be the instrument

As people who want
True joy we must have faith and
Seek confident joy

The pearl of great price
This is what you are here for
Find it now and live

[For me the ā€œpearl of great priceā€ is the realization that the Creator is within each person and the goal of personhood is to humbly be a channel for the Creatorā€™s action in the world without resisting. See also an earlier view.]

Within me in the quietness beyond silence is the assurance of immortal life and the potentiality of peace here and now.

I know that as I live this life it is but an echo as compared to the life within: Eternal, immortal, omniscient.

Know with confidence that gentleness within is your strength.

The very quietness of goodness is undramatic and therefore too often unseen.

Beneath the obscure darkness of wisest silence, the hidden jewel.
Silence beyond silence is the silence He presses through. (Wait upon it and in it.)

The next installment is here.
